HTC: Also Having Unforeseen Demand Problems
Well, it seems like Apple is not the only company dealing with “runaway hits”. With the Apple iPad’s launch in the US proving too successful, the Cupertino based firm has decided that the international launch of the iPad should be delayed in order to keep up with demands for the device.
A similar situation is now keeping HTC trying hard to keep up with the demands for their recently launch HTC Desire smart phone. The handset has already been out in Vodafone and T-Mobile but stocks are reportedly running quite low as many Android fans are quickly snapping up the device. With the Nexus One still only available through online purchase, it seems like people are turning to HTC in order to meet their Android fix.
The announcement also comes with the report that the HTC Desire launch with Orange Mobile UK might be delayed as they prepare more stocks to meet up with orders and pre-orders for the Android smart phone. Sadly, this means that we will not get to see the upcoming Orange exclusive all black edition of the Desire anytime soon.
The HTC Desire Android smart phone was first announced last year as the HTC Bravo smart phone. The device was considered to be the best of its kind and it was originally meant to be one of the first HD ready Android devices to be released (which was later removed, along with 720p video recording).
The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1GHz CPU, a 3.7 AMOLED touch screen (with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels) and a 5 mega pixel camera with WVGA video recording capability. It runs the latest Android operating system and uses the HTC Sense user interface.
